Thriving Kirklees provides mental health support for people aged 0-18 in Kirklees.

Support includes someone to talk to on the phone, help understanding mental health, information and advice, links to other organisations services, counselling, support sessions with mental health practitioners, activity groups and workshops.

When you call, we will take some details about who you are and identify which services might help. We will want to talk to the young person concerned and will ask for consent to store your data and talk to others who know the young person.

Chathealth links you with a local healthcare professional to answer questions via text message. You can ask anything about your health.

Chathealth is a Thriving Kirklees service. It's available between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday. Responses may not be immediate.

Kirklees Wellness Service

The Wellness Service can help support your mental health and wellbeing through managing your emotional, physical and/or your social wellbeing. We can guide you through behaviour change using a number of different approaches including health coaching.

Utilising health coaching techniques will help identify which area of wellbeing has the biggest impact on your mental health.

Family Lives

Family Lives help families achieve the best relationships possible with children and support professional parents. They provide professional, non judgemental support and advice which is easy to access.

Night Owls

Night Owls is a new overnight listening and advice service for children and young people experiencing a mental health crisis.

The service is available 8pm – 8am every day.

Night Owls can help if you:

  • are finding it hard to cope with life
  • feel like you have nowhere to turn
  • are feeling angry, lonely, anxious, or depressed
  • are caring for a young person who is struggling with their mental health
  • feel confused or find it hard to think straight
  • feel unsafe
  • feel you can’t go on living
  • someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis or you are concerned about their emotional
  • wellbeing
  • Or simply want to talk either via phone/text or online chat

The Calm Zone

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is a leading movement against suicide, but can support you with issues such as anger, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, depression, eating disorders, exam stress, mental health, self harm and much more.

Calm have a free and confidential helpline and webchat available 5pm-midnight, 7 days a week.

Samaritans

Samaritans works to make sure there's always someone there for anyone who needs someone to talk to. You can call, email, text or visit a branch for support. Samaritans are open 247, 365 days a year.
