Our services and Coronavirus

Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust will continue to support young people and families mental health safely throughout the Coronavirus situation.  Our services are important to the health and wellbeing of children and families.

The Trust is an independent charity providing services which are integrated into the local health system and funded by the same sources that fund NHS and Kirklees Council services.  We share information with NHS organisations and Kirklees Council and we work alongside their staff to support young people and families.

We have additional income from fundraising activities, including fundraising by local companies, grants from BBC Children in Need and from the weddings and events in our barn at weekends.  While funders have been supportive, the weddings planned in coming weeks have been cancelled and deposits returned.

We've continued to pay and support all our staff and counsellors and they have responded to this extraordinary situation with care, flexibility and commitment.

They are now able to work at home so that they can provide families with someone to talk to, support and information over the phone and by text.  We have a few staff working on site each day so that they can support each other and those working at home and keep systems running.

At the moment, we are still working 8am to 8pm Mon to Fri and Saturday mornings.

We're working closely with other services including CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) to respond to new requests for support and to make sure key support services are maintained.  You can contact us in the usual ways.

Let’s keep talking and working together.
