Hidden Hero enjoys 4* Hotel break thanks to Room to Reward Scheme

Room to Reward is a unique volunteer recognition charity created to say 'thank you' to the Hidden Heroes - inspirational volunteers who give up their time to make a difference to those who need it most. Partner hotels donate their unsold rooms, charities nominate their Hidden Heroes for a break and Room to Reward makes it happen!

One of our Volunteers, Sarah was nominated and recently enjoyed a stay at the 4* Holiday Inn Derby Riverlights, in Derby City Centre.

Sarah is one of our highly valued Family Support Volunteers here at Northorpe Hall. Sarah has been Volunteering with families for many years, providing stability and support for families with young children at the times they need it most. She is patient, kind, and highly committed to help children and young people achieve their best in life.

Sarah gives her time while her own children are at school, and supports parents to access services that help them and their children to get the best out of their home life. Her role also involves giving practical support on a wide range of family needs.

Sarah is a Family Support Volunteer alongside having her own busy family life, juggling her Volunteer commitments with the needs of her own two children and their own individual needs. Recently, one of Sarah’s children was diagnosed with a serious health condition, so we felt Sarah doubly deserved this reward.

Sarah has this to say about her stay: "It was brilliant. We so needed this break just to relax and not plan anything, just go with the flow. The hotel was lovely, the room very spacious and the goody bag was a lovely bonus too. It’s been wonderful."

We are absolutely delighted to be able to participate in the Room to Reward scheme, enabling Sarah to have little down time from her own busy family life.
