There are lots of ways of being involved in the work of Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust.
If you are part of a partner organisation working for the well-being of Kirklees children and young people, we could meet and talk about how we work together. You may also be interested in the VYON Emotional Well-being Network event on the 27th May. See the documents for download on this page.
You could be a mentor for a young person - being a positive adult in their lives, someone to talk to, a role model and another perspective on life. Mentors should be able to offer stable, reliable and positive interaction with young people, at least a couple of times every month for a year. They should be able to form a friendly, trusting relationship with a young person needing support.
For those with a Counselling Diploma looking to volunteer as a counsellor, we offer expenses and a contribution towards supervision costs.
For those who have some experience of working with children and young people, you could help out at the activity groups for young carers.
There may be other volunteering opportunities at Northorpe Hall Trust built around you, so if you are looking for some voluntary work or would like more information, please contact us. If you have a passion for something - design, sports, outdoors, events, music - and you are willing to give your time, then there is bound to be a way you can help. We always need help with fundraising and could help you organise an event or activity to raise funds for our work.
There may also be volunteer opportunities for those wanting to help with catering and refreshments, keeping the gardens and building tidy, safe and cosy, and encourage people to come and use rooms by leafleting or telephone work.
